Anders Persson
Associate Professor

I am broadly studying interactions within fish populations and the way processes at the individual level have community and ecosystem consequences. My studies are performed in a wide range of environments including lakes, streams and coastal marine systems. This has previously issues such as effects of fish on the nutrient cycling in lakes, the effects of benthic fish on the occurrance of alternative system states and the role of piscivorous fish in lakes. More recent projects include the effects of synthetic estrogen in aquatic food webs. I am currently running a multidisciplinary project on the management of coastal cod fisheries that also deals with population genetics and optimization of harvesting practises from biological, economical and sociocultural perspectives.
