I am working as a bioinformatician at the DNA sequencing facility handling the 454 sequence data. The amplicon, transcriptome and genome data are prepared for and delivered to different research groups. Many times I perform further analyses on the data sets and my aim is to provide a link between biological data and the biological context. Many different organisms are analyzed, like fungi, birds, plants, and bacteria. The research questions are equally diverse ranging from population dynamics to gene expression.
An important part of the work is to make data available through web interfaces and to write web applications for sequence analysis.
