PhD Programme
The Department of Psychology has approximately 55 active PhD students. The PhD programme leads to a PhD corresponding to 240 university credits, or a licentiate degree with 120 university credits.
The programme is composed of coursework, 90 credits, and research leading to a dissertation.
To be eligible for the doctoral programme applicants must have a degree at the advanced level, or at least 240 university credits of which 60 must be at the advanced level. This corresponds to 160 and 40 credits, respectively, according to the older credit system.
New positions for the PhD programme are made public yearly, with an April 15 application deadline. Postgraduate positions are financed by the department, research projects or by external authorities and organisations.
Completion of the PhD programme usually takes four years of full-time studies.
