Honor C. Prentice has a long-standing interest in variation, hybridization and evolution within the (mainly) diploid genus Silene, with a main focus on the dioecious species in Section Melandrium and the gynodioecious Silene vulgaris group of species. Ongoing projects examine intraspecific differentiation, crossing barriers, phylogeography and phylogeny, and collaboration with a range of other Silene enthusiasts: Stefan Andersson, Bengt Oxelman (Göteborg), Anja Rautenberg (Uppsala), Fabienne Van Rossum (National Botanic Garden of Belgium), John McNeill (Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh) and Yamama Naciri (Les conservatoire et jardin botaniques de la Ville de Genève).
