Lund University Library invites you to the exhibition: The Eighties - Kitsch, Crisis and Pork à la Pineapple

The Eighties is an unapologetically nostalgic exhibition highlighting a decade that transformed Sweden and the Swedish self-image. It was a decade framed by somber headlines and tinted in garish shades of pastel; a decade when champagne flowed freely, when the Market was God, when the fog of hairspray lay thick and the constant threat of nuclear war was met with a hedonistic “Cheers damn it!"

A decade marked by contradiction, like all decades, and yet not quite like anything else.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Karin Salomonsson, professor of ethnology, on Friday, May 4, at 2:00 pm.
