An interdisciplinary project looking at how people and institutions cope with overflow - of information, consumption, choices. It includes studies of news agencies, health care and consumption. My own focus is on domestic overflows, analayzing strategies for coping with an accelerating inflow of commodities, media products, activities, i e routinization, multitasking, storing, ignoring and ridding

"It's simply too much!" It is often said that we live in times of problematic overflow. Too many commodities enter the home, too many choices, too much information. My part of the project deals with domestic overflow and the ways different generations develop coping strategies - from routinization and multi-tasking, to selective ignorance or forgetfulness, as well as techniques of storing and ridding.
