Seminars & Networks at the Department of Gender Studies
In our open seminar series Genusvetenskapliga seminariet researchers present their ongoing projects. Presenters are researches and PhD students at Department of Gender Studies, visiting scholars and specially invited guests. The language of the seminar is either Swedish or English, according to the title of the seminar. Leading the seminar is Sara Goodman.
Global Gender Matters aims at increasing our knowledge about the globalized ways in which gender is configured socio-culturally, economically, and politically in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America. By inviting social science scholars, with a particular interest in gender matters in non-Western settings, we hope to be able to create a stimulating intellectual forum wherein the sexualized and racialized roles, relationships, powers, and conflicts of women and men in respect to the social sphere and political institutions can be examined carefully. With the seminar we even wish to facilitate increased collaboration on gender matters between scholars from Lund University and scholars from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

Critical Disability Studies Seminar gathers researchers, students, activists and practitioners who are interested in Crip Theory and disability. Crip Theory is a relatively new theoretical perspective studying the mechanisms that create hierarchies based on physical and mental abilities. Seminar language is English.
