The Sten K Johnson Foundation Music Scholarship

The foundation awards annual scholarships to students studying brass instruments. Details of the application process are made available during the spring term. Applicants must be registered students of the Malmö Academy of Music to be eligible. The scholarships are awarded to students who excel in their studies and are intended to be used for education or travel costs or for the purchase of an instrument. Once the final date of application has passed (a date which may vary from year to year) the committee at the Academy decides on who will be awarded the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded at the Academy’s closing ceremony.

The foundation’s funds are managed by Lund University. The number and size of the scholarships which are awarded depends on the returns from the foundation's investments. The scholarship is awarded according to the principles in the Academy’s scholarship policy. In addition, the following applies for the Sten K Johnson Foundation Music Scholarships:

• The scholarships are intended for students studying brass instruments
• The scholarship funds awarded are meant to be used to cover or partially cover costs of education, travel or the purchase of an instrument
• The chairman of the brass committee in cooperation with donors participates in the selection process

2010: one scholarship worth SEK 25,000

Applications must be received by April 26 2010.
