Foreword

The document “Strategies and Plan of Activities for the Malmö Academy of Music 2011 – 2012” contains the long-term strategies and overall goals of the Academy as well as concrete plans which are to be prioritised in the future. The staff and students of the Academy are the primary target group of this document and it is intended to provide guidance in work with the development of the Academy’s programmes of study as well as the Academy as a whole.

The first version of the “Strategies and Plan of Activities for the Malmö Academy of Music 2009” was adopted by the Academy Board on January 28, 2009. The strategic plan is the result of a long process including comprehensive background surveys of staff and students, involving, among other things, a web-based questionnaire with the aim of gaining an understanding of thoughts and opinions. It shall be updated on a regular basis and developments made each year shall be compared to the goals stated in the document. A follow-up of the 2009 version of this document was conducted in the spring of 2010. The plan for the coming years is presented here. The Strategic Plan of Lund University has been used as a reference in the production of this document and attention has been paid to the ways in which Lund University’s overall visions and goals can be transferred to and realised at the Academy. We have also chosen not to address issues which are already covered in other documents such as examination regulations, programme syllabi and course syllabi or other policy documents, plans and regulations which regulate operations at Lund University.

The Academy Board, Study Programmes Board and Management Group worked together with several other individuals employed at the Academy in the production of this document. The plan was then adopted by the Academy Board on November 10, 2010.
