JÖRGEN SVENSSON is trained at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied for Prof. Harald Thedén during the years 1986-1991. After that came studies for Prof. Milan Vitek in the soloist class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and then in Tel Aviv, Israel, for former concertmaster of Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, Chaim Taub, until 1995. Jörgen made his debut in 1991 in Stockholm with the Radio Symphonists and Leif Segerstam, where he play the Brahm’s violin concert.
JÖRGEN SVENSSON has, among other things, recieved the Royal Music Academy’s grand foreign scholarship no less than four times, and in 1995 he was a finalist in the Swedish music competition Solistpriset. Jörgen came to Malmö Symphony Orchestra in 1995, then as a voice leader for the second violin voice. Between the years 1999 and 2009 he was the orchestra’s first concertmaster and from the year 2010 he’s the alt. first concertmaster. Jörgen has been a soloist with the orchestra on a number of occations with MSO and other orchestras like for instance Brahms, Bruch violin concert, Mozart A-dur concert, Beethoven trippel concert, Khatchaturian violin concert, Zigeunerweisen by Sarasate, Mozart Concertone and Bach’s double concert.
