MAPPING FUTURE HORIZONS
Identifying knowledge gaps for the Climate Action and Resource Efficiency Challenge in Horizon 2020.
The EU strategy for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 points to
major societal challenges to which the research community should
identify solutions. One of these is the challenge: Climate action,
resource efficiency and raw materials.
Aarhus University aims at bringing its research together across
disciplines to foster solutions to the challenges facing society.
Fifteen years after the Aarhus Convention was agreed, we invite
researchers from all disciplines to Aarhus University on the 3rd and 4th
of October 2013.
We will assess the current status of the scientific analyses of the
future environmental issues and provide input to the European Commission
on the knowledge gap and future research needs to meet the Horizon 2020
challenge.
Topics to be covered
- Fighting and adapting to climate change
- Sustainable managing natural resources and ecosystems
- Ensuring the sustainable supply of non-energy and non-agricultural raw materials
- Enabling the transition towards a green economy through eco-innovation
- Developing comprehensive and sustained global environmental observation and information systems
Who should attend?
The conference is for scientists, Ph.D. students, administrators, managers, representatives of industry and non-governmental organisations as well as decision-makers working on the topics encompassed by the Climate Action and Resource Efficiency challenge.
