Docent lecture in Theoretical Chemistry by Mikael Lund
Popular lecture entitled "Intermolecular Interactions in Macromolecular Solution"
Abstract: Interactions between macromolecules such as proteins, DNA, polyelectrolytes etc. are intimately connected with the surrounding solvent and co-solutes. pH, salt concentration and salt type are thus key parameters used by chemists and biologists when describing macromolecular solutions. In this talk we discuss physical mechanisms behind solution mediated intermolecular interactions and give an introduction to computer models for describing these.
